The Devonshire is Vispring's entry point into the hand-crafted range, built entirely on British wool with three distinct layers that work from surface to core to regulate comfort and support throughout the night. The ticking is woven from wool and viscose, creating a soft yet durable cover that remains comfortable after years of use, while the fleece wool layers beneath provide immediate give and breathable loft to ensure temperature is moderated rather than trapped. A deeper layer of British fleece wool adds depth and resilience, preventing uneven compression over time for a consistently supportive sleeping surface.
The spring system features a single tier of 1,716 hand-nested, calico-pocketed Vanadium steel coils in a King size, each coil in its own calico pocket to respond to weight independently and minimize interference between sleepers. Vanadium steel maintains tension longer than standard carbon steel, a key reason it’s chosen across the range. Available in Soft, Medium, Firm, and Extra Firm tensions, the Devonshire also offers centre splits for partners with different preferences. Two rows of hand side-stitching secure the border coils to the mattress edge, while hand-tufting with felt washers anchors fillings in place at regular intervals to prevent lateral shift and uphold a firm, even sleeping surface over the years.
